How we learn
We believe that we must adopt a world-class approach and incorporate state-of-the-art developments in school education which is why we have invested in a dedicated Learning & Development department. Headed by Soumya Gulati, Deputy Director – Academic, Innovation & Development, the team consists of 7 veterans with rich and varied experience in education and research, who have developed a unique curriculum in-house. This team works closely with the teaching staff to enable them to continuously imbibe, practice and improve their knowledge and skills.
This particular curriculum draws from globally-tested, progressive learning methodologies. Inquiry, experience and application form the pillars of this academic programme. The emphasis is both on academic rigour as well as engagement beyond the classroom. We connect learning to real life applications through a range of interventions such as field trips, excursions, outdoor activities, social experiments, research projects and situational simulations.
Learning is made more engaging and effective through the use of phenomenon-based lessons, brainstorming, role play, interactive lab experiments, learning through multiple intelligences, and self and peer evaluation.
We also instil a global outlook by exposing students to ideas and philosophies from diverse cultures and nations. We inspire them to grasp and confront real-world issues by connecting them with students of different nationalities (through Skype sessions, webinars).
We underscore this international spirit by developing a positive attitude in our students through a wide range of activities, including overseas student and teacher exchange programmes and participation in global conferences. Students of Blue Bells have, in fact, won laurels at overseas competitions such as the International Robotics Challenge held in Seattle, Moscow, Dubai and Singapore. We have also organised friendly cricket matches with international teams as part of our sports engagement programme.
We pride ourselves in being able to deliver a continuous professional learning and curriculum review programme for our educators to broaden their knowledge, augment educator competencies, and keep pace with contemporary developments.
